LOS ANGELES – Four people, including an NYPD officer, were killed in a tragic shooting that occurred Monday afternoon in Midtown Manhattan. Authorities have identified the suspect as Shane Tamura, who reportedly died by suicide after carrying out the deadly attack. The shooting took place at a prominent skyscraper housing the headquarters of both the NFL and Blackstone, one of the world’s largest investment firms, along with other tenants. The motive for the attack remains unknown.

Tisch stated that the 27-year-old suspect had a history of mental illness and acted alone, though investigators are still trying to determine why he targeted the 345 Park Avenue office building. During a press conference, Tisch revealed, "I can't speak about any prior law enforcement contact, except that our Las Vegas partners informed us of a mental health history just two weeks ago."Local Perspective on the Suspect learned that Shane Tamura played football at Granada Hills Charter High School in Los Angeles. Walter Roby, his head coach during Tamura's senior year, shared his insights on the former player. "Shane was very quiet. He was a quiet, hard worker. He was coachable. "Whatever we asked him to do, he did it," Roby told Matthew Seedorff. He led by example on the field. He was one of my top offensive players at the time."

Grappling with the news, Roby added, "Could I have done more? Could I help the kid? It's just a lot I'm trying to process right now." More recently, he had been employed as a security guard at a casino in Las Vegas. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to understand the full circumstances surrounding this devastating event.
