This year, celebrations are taking many different forms—from stocking up for a classic backyard barbecue to diving into a star-studded lineup of parties and events. This article explores two very different ways to get ready for the holiday, starting with practical preparations at a local grocery store and ending with a look at the nonstop festivities at a major Las Vegas resort.

The store is well-equipped to help customers plan an affordable and delicious menu. Known for its wide selection and helpful staff, Schmitz’s Economart provides everything needed for a perfect celebration, all under one roof. Customers can grab freshly prepared salads and sides from the full-service deli, or get high-quality cuts of meat from the butcher shop for grilling. With departments also dedicated to beer, liquor, and a pharmacy, the store truly serves as a one-stop shop for everything from party supplies to last-minute necessities. The ad flyer includes discounts across a variety of departments, providing a welcome opportunity for shoppers to get ahead on their holiday preparations without breaking the bank.
A Nonstop Party in Las Vegas
For those looking to end the summer with a bang, Resorts World Las Vegas has an entire lineup of celebrations planned for Labor Day Weekend. With the sun still shining hot in Vegas, the resort has curated a series of events that will keep the party going all weekend long, with options for every kind of reveler.
The festivities begin with daytime celebrations centered around the resort’s impressive pools. At Bimini Pool and Lawn, a poolside barbecue celebration is set to take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from August 29-31. For a starting ticket price of just $30, guests can munch on hamburgers and smoked barbecue ribs, sip on Ketel One vodka cocktails, and join in on fun poolside games. For a different kind of pool experience, the Athena Infinity Ultra Pool will host a night swim party on August 27. From 8 to 11 p.m., guests can lounge by the two pools, including a stunning infinity pool with gorgeous views of the city skyline. A live DJ will set the mood, and specialty cocktails will be available for purchase, making for a swanky, upscale event.
Beyond the pools, the resort is also hosting a variety of food and nightlife experiences. The well-known Famous Foods Street Eats food hall is hosting a special pop-up featuring Blood Bros BBQ. The Houston-based eatery, known for its unique take on barbecue that marries Texas flavors with Chinese, Vietnamese, and Cajun influences, will be serving up specials on August 30-31. The menu will feature discounted wings, ribs, and brisket, as well as drink deals that include cheap drafts and the canned alcoholic treat "Skimmers." To cap off the weekend, the property’s fun sports bar RedTail will host a recovery brunch on August 31. The all-you-can-eat buffet is priced at just $50 per person, and unlimited mimosas are available for an additional $30.
For those who love to get dressed up and go out, the resort has no shortage of events. The Rose Rooftop Celebration on August 30 promises an unforgettable night with sweeping views of the city. For a starting ticket price of $20, guests can enjoy the expansive rooftop space while listening to hits from the '80s performed by the tribute band Spandex Nation. Music fans have even more to look forward to at the resort’s nightlife and daylife hot spots, Ayu Dayclub and Zouk Nightclub, which have a wicked lineup scheduled for the weekend. The daytime pool parties at Ayu Dayclub include performances by DJ Flight, Kaskade, and Nelly, while the nights at Zouk Nightclub feature Nicky Romero, T-Pain, and Lil Wayne. Country music fans won't be left out, as the Dawg House Saloon & Sports Book will host free live performances by Tom Yankton throughout the weekend.
The resort has also lined up a series of happy hours across its various restaurants, including Kusa Nori, Wally’s Wine & Spirits, Stubborn Seed, and Brezza, giving guests plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy special drink deals.
Whether you're stocking up on grilling essentials at a local grocery store or dancing the night away at a Las Vegas pool party, Labor Day Weekend is about making the most of the final days of summer. From local communities to bustling resorts, the holiday provides a perfect excuse to gather, celebrate, and enjoy.
